Samuel L. Jackson, with his inimitable voice, is the narrator of I am not your negro, a documentary based on the writings of James Baldwin. It is an insight of what it was for a black writer to live in America in the 1960s and it is sadly still relevant. I usually complain that movies are too long (and they are!), but this time around, I would have gladly stayed another hour or two in the company of such an insightful and engaging writer. His books are now on my never-ending reading list…
